An intense experience of trail running the full Tour du Mont Blanc! Our team will transfer your luggage for you so that you will find it in your accommodation each evening.

Cover 35 km (22 miles) a day in “fastpack” mode, carrying only what you need for the day. At a steady pace, you will hike and run from one refuge to the next, passing through three countries surrounding Mont Blanc: France, Italy and Switzerland.

DAY 1: LES HOUCHES - LES CONTAMINES
6 hours trail running - Night in a refuge with luggage - 1,800 m (5,900 ft) ascent / 1,100 m (3,610 ft) descent
Meet at 8.30am in Les Houches for the departure briefing and to load your personal belongings, which will follow you during your trip.

You will then set off on your first day towards the Col de Voza (1,653 m / 5,420 ft) and then the Col du Tricot (2,120 m / 6,955 ft), where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Aiguille du Goûter and the Dômes de Miage! You will then descend towards the Chalets de Miage and the Chalets du Truc and down to Les Contamines.
DAY 2: LES CONTAMINES - COL CHÉCROUIT
7 hours 30 trail running - Night in a refuge with luggage - 2,000 m (6,560 ft) ascent / 800 m (2,625 ft) descent
A spectacular day with three mountain passes: the Col du Bonhomme (2,352 m / 7,720 ft), then the Col des Fours (2,665 m / 8,740 ft) and finally the Col de la Seigne (2,516 m / 8,255 ft), where you will leave France and the Savoie region and arrive in the Aosta Valley in Italy.

You will then head for Lac Combal, where you will stay the night at the refuge.
DAY 3: COL CHÉCROUIT - LA FOULY
7 hours trail running - Night in a refuge with luggage - 1,800 m (5,900 ft) ascent / 2,100 m (6,890 ft) descent
The day begins with a descent into Courmayeur, before climbing back up to the Bertone refuge at 2,000 m (6,560 ft) and joining a superb high-level traverse that offers incredible views of Mont Blanc and the Grandes Jorasses.

You will then go down to Val Ferret before heading back up to the Petit Col Ferret pass (2,490 m / 8,170 ft) and into the Valais canton in Switzerland, finishing in La Fouly at the end of the day.
DAY 4: LA FOULY - TRIENT
7 hours trail running - 1,800 m (5,900 ft) ascent / 2,100 m (6,890 ft) descent
Today you will set out to cross Val Ferret in Switzerland to arrive in Champex and begin the ascent of the technical and mythical Fenêtre d’Arpette at 2,665 m (8,740 ft). At the top you can admire the view of the glaciers before descending to Trient where you will spend the night.
DAY 5: TRIENT - LES HOUCHES
6 hours 30 trail running - 1,500 m (4,920 ft) ascent / 1,800 m (5,900 ft) descent
This morning you will take a wild alpine itinerary to get back into France. When you arrive at the ridges that mark the border, the Mont Blanc massif is revealed once again, offering fantastic “picture postcard” views.

You will then set off in the direction of the Col des Montets pass (1,460 m / 4,790 ft) then the Tête aux Vents (2,130 m / 6,990 ft) to reach Les Houches and complete this fantastic loop!
Jour 6 : du col des Montets vers la montagne de Loriaz
6 heures de marche - 30 minutes de route - Nuit en hôtel - D+ 850 m / D- 850 m
Vous débuterez cette journée de randonnée par le haut de la vallée. Vous passerez en véhicule le Col des Montets pour redescendre vers le petit hameau du Buet. Le chemin en direction de la Montagne de Loriaz et de Barberine est une montée agréable et ombragée jusqu’au refuge de la Loriaz perché à 1982 m. Vous poursuivrez votre marche vers le col du Passet pour découvrir le magnifique lac d’Emosson. Comme les jours précédents, vous rejoindrez l’hôtel après être redescendus des hauteurs.
Jour 7 : Le balcon Nord de Chamonix
5 heures de marche - 5 minutes de route - D+ 250 m / D- 1200 m
Le matin, vous emprunterez le téléphérique de l’Aiguille du Midi jusqu’à la gare du plan de l’Aiguille. De là, vous aurez une vue plongeante sur les célèbres Aiguilles, haut lieu de l’histoire de l’alpinisme. Vous aurez notamment, juste au-dessus de vous, la face Nord de l’Aiguille du Midi. C’est ainsi que débutera votre marche : un balcon Nord surplombé par les impressionnants glaciers et arêtes ciselées. Ensuite, vous entamerez une belle traversée jusqu’au Signal Forbes (2200 m) et ses étonnants rochers puis la gare de Montenvers, avant d’amorcer la descente vers Chamonix. Votre randonnée et votre séjour se termineront en fin d’après-midi. Vous pourrez échanger vos dernières impressions sur cette belle semaine de randonnée dans les Alpes !

Climate

Temperatures vary according to the altitude. It can be as hot as 30°C in summer at low levels and minus temperatures on the summits.

Summer thunderstorms are common in the French Alps.

Luggage

Every day, your luggage is transferred between the refuges by our team.

Transport

Meet at 8.30 am in the car park for the Bellevue cable car at Les Houches on the day of departure.

Transport to the meeting point on day 1 and any transfers not included in the programme are not included in the price of the trip.

Air

No particular instructions.

Electricity

Some (but not all) refuges allow small electronic devices to be charged.

Meals

Picnics at lunchtime and meals in the morning and evening in the accommodation.

Accomodation

2 nights in inns and 2 nights in refuges in dormitories.

Comfort option on request: 4 nights in a double room, +€90 / person.

Health and vaccines

No compulsory vaccines.

We strongly recommend that you make sure you are up to date with the standard vaccinations: diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis, whooping cough, tuberculosis, typhoid fever, hepatitis A and B.

We recommend that you have a check-up with your dentist before you leave.

Formalities and Visa

No visa is required for French nationals and citizens of bordering countries.

BUDGET, CURRENCY AND TIPS

Daily transfers, meals, except for supplements (cold drinks, snacks, etc.) and accommodation are included in the price of the stay.

Tipping is not necessary and should reflect your satisfaction with the team.

Insurance and assistance

There are other insurance options available, such as Mondial Assistance, your own insurance company or the Club Alpin Français. You should check that they cover trekking.

Make sure that your insurance covers all medical costs in the event of an accident.

It is essential that you check and ensure that you have insurance cover for mountain rescue costs. If this is the case, you must provide us with the following information prior to your departure on the trek:

A certificate from the insurance company stating that mountain rescue costs are covered.

The contract number and telephone number of the assistance centre.

Be aware of the restrictive clauses contained in certain insurance policies (particularly those linked to bank cards such as Visa Premier, Gold or others), for example mountain insurance restricted to snow activities and altitude sickness not recognised as an illness requiring repatriation, resulting in refusal to repatriate.

Please check the actual content of your insurance and make the necessary arrangements where required.
