Highlights of the trip

The best hikes in the Chamonix valley.
The comfort of staying in the same place each night and carrying light backpacks.
The grandiose panoramas offered by Mont Blanc.
DAY 1: FIRST ENCOUNTERS BEFORE SETTING OFF
Overnight stay in a hotel
On arrival at the hotel, you will have the pleasure of meeting your guide and the rest of the hiking group. The evening will be devoted to welcome drinks and the presentation of the wonderful programme that awaits you during the week.

Make the most of this first night to rest so that you can start your adventure on good form!
DAY 2: FROM LACS NOIRS TO COL DE LA GLIÈRE
5 hours walking time - 10-minute drive - Night in a hotel - 600 m (1,970 ft) ascent / 600 m (1,970 ft) descent
You will start this first day by taking the Flégère cable car. This will take you soaring above the landscape so that you can admire the emerging rocky surroundings.

Little by little, you will see Mont Blanc receding into the distance while the famous peaks Aiguille Verte and Aiguille du Dru and the Mer de Glace glacier appear. On the other side, to the north, you can admire the limestone peaks of the Haut Giffre massif and the vast Sixt Passy Nature Reserve.

You will then pass the Col du Lac Cornu to arrive at the impressive Lacs Noirs (“Black Lakes”). The scenery is magnificent, and you will be amazed at the way the glaciers carve their way through the landscape! Finally, you will reach a second pass, Col de la Glière, before returning to La Flégère and the cable car.
DAY 3: VIEWS OF ALL THE PEAKS IN THE REGION
5 hours walking time - 15-minute drive - Night in a hotel - 900 m (2,950 ft) ascent / 900 m (2,950 ft) descent
Today, you will head for the charming little hamlet of Les Houches for the start of your hike. You will climb up Mont Lachat (2,115 m / 6,940 ft) on little-used paths. If you look up, you can admire Aiguille du Goûter and its refuge. The panoramas are magnificent along the entire route, with beautiful views of the neighbouring peaks.

The return loop will take you via Col de Voza, from where you can catch a glimpse of the wagons on the Mont Blanc tramway.
DAY 4: AIGUILLETTE DES POSETTES
6 hours walking time - 20-minute drive - Night in a hotel - 800 m (2,625 ft) ascent / 800 m (2,625 ft) descent
After a short morning transfer, you will arrive at the top of the valley, on the border with the Valais region of Switzerland just a stone's throw away.

The ascent will take you to Aiguillette des Posettes (2,201 m / 7,220 ft), a beautiful viewpoint. You will then continue on to Col de Balme (2,195 m / 7,200 ft). This is a pass that has been used for decades by mountain dwellers from both countries, as well as trekkers undertaking the Tour du Mont Blanc.

The rest of the day will take you through the mountain pastures above the Chamonix valley, returning to the hotel in the late afternoon.
DAY 5: IMMERSE YOURSELF IN A MAJESTIC FOREST
6 hours walking time - 15-minute drive - Night in a hotel - 950 m (3,115 ft) ascent / 950 m (3,115 ft) descent
With majestic panoramic views, today will be like a hymn to the imposing Mont Blanc.
Your goal for the day is the ascent of Aiguillette des Houches (2,310 m / 7,580 ft), with its breathtaking views of the summits and 360 degree panorama!

The path will take you first through a coniferous forest interspersed with birch trees and the scent of summer. You will be sure to enjoy the breathtaking views as you walk through the rhododendrons. Finally, your descent will take you a different way back down to the hotel via a spectacular ridge.
DAY 6: FROM COL DES MONTETS TO MONTAGNE DE LORIAZ
6 hours walking time - 30-minute drive - Night in a hotel - 850 m (2,790 ft) ascent / 850 m (2,790 ft) descent
You will start today's hike at the top of the valley. You will drive through Col des Montets and down to the small hamlet of Le Buet. The path towards Montagne de Loriaz and Barberine is a pleasant and shady climb up to the Loriaz refuge, perched at 1,982 m (6,500 ft) above sea level.

You will continue your walk towards Col du Passet to discover the delightful Lac d’Emosson. As on previous days, you will return to the hotel after making your descent from the mountains.
DAY 7: THE BALCON NORD IN CHAMONIX
5 hours walking time - 5-minute drive - 250 m (820 ft) ascent / 1,200 m (3,935 ft) descent
In the morning, you will take the Aiguille du Midi cable car up to Plan de l'Aiguille. From here, you will have a bird's eye view of the famous Aiguilles, which have long been a Mecca for climbers. Just above, you will see the North face of the Aiguille du Midi.

This is how your walk begins, following the traverse of the Balcon Nord overlooked by impressive glaciers and chiselled ridges. You will then follow a beautiful traverse to Signal Forbes (2,200 m / 7,220 ft) and its amazing rocks, then the Montenvers station, before starting your descent to Chamonix.

Your hike and your stay will draw to an end in the late afternoon. Now is the time to share your last impressions of this fantastic week of hiking in the Alps!
